Shield explores the rituals of self-presentation, drawing parallels between ancient practices—such as Native American body painting for psychological and visual impact—and modern grooming habits. Through a series of diptychs featuring diverse subjects, the project pairs staged portraits of individuals reenacting their daily routines with still-life images of the tools they use.
